SCHEDULE 2025

MARCH 7, 8.30 AM –
MARCH 8, 9.30 AM

After the conference, we continue to watch the women’s WC race.

ENRICHING DAYS

Climate change is impacting skiing and ski resorts worldwide. Now comes a chance to be part of reversing this trend. Take it.

During the weekend, you will not only get to listen to and talk with some of Europe’s leading experts. You will also get to ski, attend a climate après-ski with researchers, and watch the women’s Alpine World Cup race. Here’s the program.

Below are some overarching questions the day aims to address:

  • How is the planet doing?
  • How does winter sports impact and get impacted?
  • What legal responsibilities do politicians and companies have?
  • How should we eat, travel, and do business within the planet’s boundaries?
  • How can financing and innovations help us?
  • What role can athletes, ski resorts, events, and companies play?

The program is preliminary and subject to ongoing updates.

A WINNING LIFESTYLE, 10.30-12.00

Now, we break down the challenge into concrete areas. We start with sports as a catalyst. What role can sports and winter sports play in driving the transition? We begin in Paris!

  • Georgina Grenon, Sustainability Director, Paris 2024 Olympics (joining via link)
  • Susanna Sieff, Sustainability Director, FIS
  • Riika Rakic, Sustainability Director, IBU

We then move on to transportation, one of the major impact areas. What does the future of mobility look like? How can different modes of transport work together, and how can we and our mobility companies accelerate the transition to quickly reduce emissions?

  • Mattias Goldmann from the 2030 Secretariat, opens the discussion and then, together with Carolina Klüft, leads a conversation with representatives from various modes of transport to clarify the situation. The panel consists of: Monica Lingegård, SJ; Erik Westman, SAS; Jörgen Wedefelt, Audi; Fanny Sjödin, SkiStar; and Magnus Aspegren, public transport Region Jämtland Härjedalen.

Food and food systems are central to the transition, our survival, and our well-being. How should we eat for white winters and a winning lifestyle? What does this mean for local food production? Researchers and food entrepreneurs will guide us:

  • Line Gordon, Professor in Sustainability Science, Stockholm Resilience Centre
  • Gunhild Stordalen, Founder & Executive Chair, EAT Forum
  • Ulrika Brydling, Head of Operations, Eldrimner

12.00 Lunch

BUSINESS, LAW, FINANCING AND INNOVATION, 13.00-14.45

We move on to exploring the tools that can help us. How can development and guidelines go hand in hand while driving a reduced climate footprint? Among the experts discussing law, financing, and innovation are:

  • Beatrice Crona, Stockholm Resilience Center, kicks off by explaining how we should do business in the future to ensure white winters.
  • Anna Berntorp, DLA Piper, provides insights into regulations – impact, risk or opportunity?
  • Annika Ramsköld and Stefan Ytterborn discuss Cake and the challenges the initiative encountered.
  • Sara Göthlin from Stockholm University leads a panel discussion on green financing with Björn Sjöberg from DLA Piper, Catharina Belfrage from Handelsbanken, and Stefan Ytterborn, founder of POC and Cake.

14.45 Coffee break and discussions

LEADERSHIP & COMMUNICATION, 15.15-16.10

Lisen Schultz from Stockholm Resilience Center trains top executives in the private and public sectors on climate and biodiversity daily. She opens the final session of the day with insights on how we can create courageous leaders who drive development wisely.

In the following discussion, you will find participants such as Charlotte Kalla, Anna Ottosson Blixth, Stefan Sjöstrand, André Myhrer, and Marcus Lundstedt. Together, they will discuss topics such as:

  • From the training arena to the boardroom: What can we learn from an athlete’s ability to seek continuous improvement during change while remaining resilient?
  • How do I handle goal conflicts?
  • How can I, as an athlete or business leader, take a stand in my channels
